Dolf Haffenreffer
A lifelong sailor with deep ties to Sakonnet Point, Dolf has been cruising and racing boats since childhood. He discovered his passion for the water at the Sakonnet Yacht Club in Little Compton, RI, where he learned to sail and spent countless hours cruising with his family on both power and sailboats. His dedication to the sport carried him to competitive success, serving as skipper on nationally ranked high school and college sailing teams. Over the years, Dolf has competed in prestigious races, including multiple Newport to Bermuda, Marion to Bermuda, and Annapolis to Newport events, as well as the double-handed Bermuda 1-2 Race.
Dolf earned his degree in Economics from Connecticut College and further honed his business acumen at the Tuck Business Bridge Program at Dartmouth. While he initially pursued a career in finance in Boston, his enduring love for boats quickly brought him back to Rhode Island. After a successful 12-year career as an independent yacht broker, he joined The Hinckley Company, where his passion for the boating lifestyle and commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences have made him an invaluable member of the team.
Dolf lives in Barrington, RI, with his wife, Meredith, and their three sons, Alden, Wells, and Rory. Summers are spent in Little Compton where they moor their Morris Ocean Series 46’ and spend time racing their family’s 1954 Alden-designed sloop. In the winter months, the family enjoys skiing at Alta, Utah, and Wildcat, NH.
